Privacy Policy

Last updated 25 September 2026. The short version: the content you add is used only to answer your assistant's visitors, nothing is sold to anyone, and you can delete everything.

What we collect

Account details. Your name, email address and sign-in credentials, handled by our authentication provider (Clerk). We never see or store your password.

Website content and documents. When you point ChatDock at a website, upload documents or add videos, we store the text it reads so the assistant can answer from it. You choose what goes in, and you can delete any page, file or video, or a whole assistant, at any time.

Conversations and leads. Messages visitors exchange with an assistant, and the contact details they choose to leave (name, email, phone, booking requests), are stored so you and your client can follow up and see what the assistant said.

Usage data. Message counts, the operational logs any web service keeps, and Google Analytics on chatdock.io (this site, the dashboard, share links and booking pages), which counts visits and sign-ups. Google Analytics is not loaded in the chat window on your website. We do not sell or share data with advertisers.

How it is used

Content you add is used for exactly one thing: generating answers for the assistant it belongs to. Conversations are processed by AI model providers to generate replies. We do not train our own models on your data, and one customer's content is never used to answer another customer's visitors — every assistant's content is kept separate.

Who else touches the data

ChatDock runs on established cloud infrastructure (hosting, database, authentication, payments) and sends conversation context to large-language-model providers to generate responses. These providers process data on our instructions to run the service — nothing more. We do not sell personal data.

Retention and deletion

Data stays as long as your account does, subject to the history limits of your plan. Deleting a page, file or video removes it from the assistant's answers. Deleting an assistant removes its content, conversations and leads. Deleting your account removes everything. If you want a copy or a deletion confirmed by a human, contact us — the founder answers directly.

Visitors talking to an assistant

If you arrived here because you chatted with an assistant on a business's website: that business (or its agency) controls the assistant and the information it collects. Anything you type, including contact details you choose to leave, is shared with them. Ask them directly to access or remove what you submitted, or contact us and we will help route the request.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes materially we will note it here with a new date. Questions, access requests, deletions: the founder answers them himself. Book a 15-minute call or message him on X.
